It's been no doubt that Sony's departure from Malaysia to sell smartphones is something that many has seen a mile away, so it's definitely a surprise to see that Sony hasn't given up on us just yet. A Sony representative contacted Lowyat and confirmed that the Sony Xperia 1 is coming its way to Malaysia.
A few days ago, SIRIM database observer, Kevin Ng TK shared on Twitter that Sony Xperia 1 had passed through the certification process by the national standards authority. As such, Lowyat had contacted Sony Malaysia, in which a representative confirmed that the Xperia 1 will be made available through direct channels including Sony Store branches.
No revelation yet on when they smartphone will be available as well as a pricing though the trepresentative did acknowledge that such information will be announced soon. Even so, it's still exciting to see that Sony hasn't given up on the Malaysian market as initially believed.

In terms of camera, the Xperia 1 also offers three 12MP cameras on its back and an 8MP selfie camera and with a battery of 3330mAh.
