Snake Rewind has the classic game shed its skin for new play

Miss the button-mashing game? You’ll love this touchscreen version

There might be a lot of Snake clone apps out there, but this is the real deal.

Taneli Armanto, the Nokia engineer who first preloaded the game onto Nokia phones way back in 1998 is back to torture you. This time, he’s teaming up with Finnish game developer Rumilus Design to recreate Snake for the modern touchscreen device.

Snake Rewind is a new and improved version that retains the much-loved aesthetic of the old Snake game. The fruit that Snakey gobbles up also act as power-ups to grant temporary special powers. But the best part is probably the fact that you get to rewind after you’ve crashed, so you don’t have to start off as a wee snakeling again.

We’re psyched to see how this plays out. Get downloading the freemium app on 14 May across iOS, Android, and Windows Phone devices.
