Samsung opens preorders for Galaxy Note 7 Fan Edition in Malaysia

It's the Note 7 reborn, and a cheaper alternative to the Note 8

Samsung Malaysia has opened preorders for the Galaxy Note 7 Fan Edition. If you want a cheaper Galaxy Note, then this is the closest you'll get (unless you choose a Galaxy Note 5).

No bombs here

It's basically a refurbished Galaxy Note 7, minus all the exploding bits and much cheaper than the Galaxy Note 8. Think a smaller 3200mAh battery but with the same 5.7in Quad HD Super AMOLED display, Exynos 8890 processor with 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage. There's also a 12MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera.

The pre-booking will commence 18 October (today) until 24 October 2017. By pre-booking, you'll get an extended one-year warranty as well as a one-year screen protection plan. You will, however, need to collect the devices from selected Samsung Experience Stores and authorised dealers. You will also need to activate a mySamsung ownership account from the 25 to 31 October 2017.

No fancy colours though, only Black Onyx is available and you'll pay RM2599 for the privilege. For more information, head to a Samsung store or call the 24-hour Samsung Careline at 1-800-22-8899.
