Right before Samsung’s official livestream unveiling the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2, official hi-res renders of the smart watch was released, showing off all the colours and variations that will be available upon release. Now, we have an official word by Samsung on the specs, release date, and the price of the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2.
The biggest change between the original Active and Active 2 is the addition of bezel control, the original Active was mainly controlled by touch controls, and the Active 2 continues this by instead having a touch-sensitive black bezel outline that is primarily used for navigation and to control the Active 2. The bezel control will give off haptic feedback as you scroll through the commands.
Other upgrades include a better heart rate monitor and accelerometer, with even Samsung’s proprietary AI assistant, Bixby, able to track and provide pace coaching support. The Active 2 also has GPS capabilities, even when not connected to a smartphone, as well as Bluetooth 5.0 support and Near-Field Communication functionalities, which allows for mobile payment support.
The Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 will be released on September 27th, coming in 2 sizes, that being 40 mm and 44 mm. There will also be Bluetooth and LTE versions. Prices start at around MYR 1,170, though hopefully more official pricings and model availability in the region will be announced soon by Samsung Malaysia.
