Samsung's Galaxy J range phones have been a fairly popular line of affordably-priced devices. The latest Galaxy J Plus is apparently on its way to Malaysia.
On paper, the specs are pretty decent. With an octa-core processor, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a dual-cam rear setup with a 16MP front camera, it's pretty all right for the price. Only niggle is that the phone doesn't use the newer USB Type-C, it instead relies on the a micro USB port.
There are two options here, gold and black, while the battery is 3000mAh. Sadly, it doesn't support Samsung Pay so if you were looking for a more affordable way to get Samsung Pay, this isn't the device for you (but the similarly priced Galaxy A5 would fit closer to your budget). Also present on the phone: LED flash on both the rear and front, accelerometer, fingerprint sensor and a hybrid SIM slot for microSD and dual-SIMs.
Pre-orders are happening from 12-17 September from 10am, with a price of RM1599.
