Selfie here, selfie there, selfie everywhere. You must be living out of this world if you’ve not seen someone take a selfie, or engage in the act itself. And Samsung may just be making a smartphone targeted at the selfie lovers.
Meet the alleged Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime – apparently, to be soon known for its image shooters (duh, we’ve been talking of selfies thus far). Rumours have leaked of the smartphone, and it’s said to have a 5MP front facing snapper, an upgrade from the 2MP cameras on the previous Grands.
If that’s the case, this could potentially be Samsung’s first mobile phone sporting a high-res, front-facing camera.
Leaks also point to an 8MP back shooter, which will also enable you to take 1080p videos. And just like the Galaxy Grand 2, it’s said to run on Android 4.4 KitKat and boast a Snapdragon 400 chipset with 1GB RAM.
Alike or not?
But that’s where all the similarities between the unofficial device and the Galaxy Grand 2 end. The Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime may have a 5in, qHD resolution screen, which will be slightly smaller than the 5.25in Galaxy Grand 2, but an improvement as compared to its 720p screen.
It’s also going to possibly sport dual-SIM device with 3G connectivity, dual-band Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, as well as 8GB of built-in storage that can be expanded via microSD card slots.
According to GSM Arena’s sources, the Galaxy Grand Prime is expected to arrive sometime after October, so till then, we’ll be eagerly awaiting its debut.
