Invites have just been sent out to Malaysian media for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy A8 launch on 30 July.
Design-wise, the phone is a lot like a sleek, lower-specced version of the S6 though its 5.7in 1920x1080 resolution screen puts it in the phablet realm. Powering it is a 1.8GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The battery is non-removeable and a sizeable 3,050mAh.
5.9mm thick, it also weighs just 151g. The all-metal build adds to its sleekness and would probably appeal to someone who wants a pretty phone but doesn't want to pay big money for a flagship. As to pricing, it's likely the phone will come in just under RM2000. Samsung hasn't announced any telco deals yet, though it might at the launch.
