The Samsung Galaxy Alpha has prematurely shown up on a UK retailer's website, and if the listed specs are true, it could very well be the first Galaxy handset to land with a metal build. Sort of.
Leaked pictures of the Galaxy Alpha point to a handset which retains the plastic textured back of existing Galaxy devices, but the device's outer edges are surrounded with a metal band with iPhone-like chamfered edges - a notable improvement over the all-plastic build of the Galaxy S5.
Less exciting are the leaked specs. A 4.7in 720p screen doesn't exactly scream flagship, suggesting that the Alpha could be an entirely separate device to the rumoured 2K Galaxy S5 Prime.

Other specs include an octa-core Exynos 5 processor, a 12MP rear camera, 2GB of RAM and, unusually for a samsung device, 32GB of non-expandable memory.
Android KitKat 4.4 and a rear heart-rate sensor finish off the rest of the spec sheet, along with the price - a very hefty RM2960 - rather dear for a device without at least a full HD screen.
While the screen resolution might disappoint some, we could see impressive battery life as a result. Assuming the leaked specs are genuine of course.
Stay tuned for more info, as and when we get it.
