UPDATE 09/03/2017: It's confirmed that the Redmi Note 4 is coming to Malaysia in the 3GB+32GB variant.
Priced at RM799, the phone will be available for preorder from 10 March and on open sale from 16 March. For the processor, Xiaomi is going for the Snapdragon 625 instead of the Helio processor used on the China variant.
Xiaomi is also running a contest on its official Facebook page so tag 4 friends and come up with a 4-word shoutout in Xiaomi Malaysia's FB comments on this post if you want to try and win the phone.
The Redmi Note series has proven pretty popular, offering decent specss for a very reasonable price. The exact specifications of the Malaysia-bound models are unknown but it's most likely they will follow similar specs to India's variants.
In India, the Redmi Note 4 uses the Snapdragon 625 octa-core 2.0GHz processor, with options for 2GB, 3GB and 4GB versions. There seems to be a 2GB RAM model with 32GB of storage, another one with the same amount of storage but with 3GB of RAM and the highest spec model being 4GB of RAM with 64GB of storage.
It also comes with a 4100mAh battery, 13MP rear camera with 720p recording as well as a 5MP front camera. For the display it uses a 5.5in Full HD display but sticks to standard microUSB for charging, likely forgoing Type-C as a cost-saving measure.
We'll keep you updated once the full specs for the Malaysian models are made available along with their prices.
