Samsung might reveal its latest Galaxy Note device as soon as next month. There is a Galaxy Unpacked 2016 event happening in New York, 2 August at the Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center and a teaser's pretty much confirmed a new phone is coming.
In a teaser image for the event, there's a tagline saying "The next edge is just around the corner." With the new Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge already out this year, it's unlikely those two models would be updated. It's pretty certain that the new devices will be the Galaxy Note 7 and perhaps the Galaxy Note 7 Edge as well.
Samsung's decision to skip the '6' naming convention for the Galaxy Note series was surprising though perhaps a way to differentiate the two lines more clearly.
Whether there will be one or two phones is still up in the air, but so far leaks have said that the Galaxy Note 7 would have a Samsung Focus app and will likely include a 5.8in QHD display, running at least a Snapdragon 823 SoC, iris scanner, USB Type-C port and a 4000mAh battery.
