The Oppo R7 Lite is the younger sibling of Oppo’s flagship, the R7 and now it is finally here in Malaysia. It was launched at a Mid Valley roadshow and the R7 Lite brings good specs to the table but with a much more affordable price.
The Oppo R7 is priced at RM1,599 while the R7 Lite is much cheaper at the price of RM1,298 and the R7 Plus phablet is priced at RM1,998. The R7 Lite looks very much identical to its big brother the R7 but only slightly smaller with a 5-inch 720p Amoled display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of expendable storage, 13MP main and 8MP front camera. It comes with dualSIM and supports 4G LTE. All of these are powered by a 2,320mAh battery making the whole device only 6.3mm thick and only weighs 147g.
The main differences of the Oppo R7 and the Lite is that the Lite has 2GB RAM instead of 3GB and the screen is at 720p resolution rather than the 1080p resolution that the R7 has. Aside from that, battery capacity is the same but with R7 able to utilise the much faster VOOC flash charging.
