Oppo has sent another press release to us, stating that they will be launching another quad camera in Malaysia soon. Despite their attempt to make it a mystery, their teaser image has the words "Reno2" in it, so we can confirm that we will be seeing the Oppo Reno 2 on our shores very soon.
When Oppo teased the launch of a quad camera, the media and our initial guess was originally the Oppo Reno 2 but it turned out to be the Oppo A9 2020. It's good to see that Oppo has brought them to Malaysia regardless.
According to Oppo, the smartphone is designed with a cutting-edge technology, exceptional mobile photography, and a unique design aesthetic. It's also feature packed and even named among the many industries first innovation. The device supposedly conceptualises this series around a playful and an imaginative spirit, this quad camera smartphone will without a doubt exceed users expectations in design, camera and performance.
To recap, the Oppo Reno 2 comes with a quad camera setup in the middle of the top rear, arranged vertically in a single line, which is the main hint on why it could be this smartphone. In terms of specs, the Oppo Reno 2 features a 6.5″ Full HD+ AMOLED display and it runs a Snapdragon 730G processor with 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage. For imaging, the rear gets a 48MP f/1.7 main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 13MP telephoto lens and a 2MP mono lens. The device also gets a wedge-shaped pop-up selfie camera that has a 16MP front camera.
Oppo will likely announce a launch date with local retail prices soon enough.
