Oppo F1s a Malaysian hit, racks up 6k preorders in a week

Selfie ambassador tactic and attractive price point proves successful

Oppo had a pretty good launch weekend for its Oppo F1s smartphone, with around 6000 preorders in just a week for the device - most of them online.

Fans also turned out in droves for the launch events that happened over the weekend which saw Ayda Jebat and Min Chen meet fans as well as show off Oppo's new selfie-optimised phone.

Oppo had been pretty aggressive in its marketing of the device, with special events that had celebrities on hand to present the device to customers who preordered the Oppo F1s at MidValley Megamall and Sunway Carnival Mall.

Feature-wise, the phone has the distinction of having a larger front camera sensor (16MP) than the back (13MP). It also has a pretty decent specs list, running the MT6750 octa-core 1.5GHz processor paired with 3GB of RAM, 32GB of flash storage as well as a 5.5in HD display, priced at RM1198.

The Oppo F1s should be out 22 Aug (today) at Oppo retail distributors or you can order the phone online at the Oppo store.
