Well, if you haven’t heard, there’s yet another ‘One’ handset on its way, not from HTC, but a mysterious company that calls itself OnePlus.

The company is based in China though it’s puzzling why it hasn’t had as much buzz as yet, considering the other phonemakers are based there like Huawei and Lenovo.

Recent leaks on Android Community have shown what looks like the promised One handset and it looks like it will follow the trend of ‘so slim you could lose it in your pocket’.

Powerful yet cheap

As far as to specs, what is intriguing is the handset will run the CyanogenMod operating system, a fork of the original Android. You will also get a Snapdragon 801 processor, 5.5-inches of screen space with a 1080p HD display, 4G LTE and a whopping 3GB of RAM.

The price for all these swoonsome specs? A mere £290 (RM1583) which sounds almost too good to be true.

A launch is happening this week so full details will be known, though we’re rather curious how much juice the battery has to support the heavy specs, especially in such a slim frame.

The phone also comes with a variety of different snap covers, which are pretty interesting as they go from colours to different textures. Slightly puzzling though, are the cables for the phone which seem to have more in common with Apple’s Lightning cables than the standard Android microUSB or Samsung’s new port.

If you think the phone’s design is rather like the Oppo’s, then your instincts would be right - its founding members are from Oppo, which explains the minimalist approach to the phone.

Seems like the OnePlus people are pretty upbeat about the coming launch of the phone, judging by their Facebook page. “Are you ready to have your jaw drop?” says one teaser photo. We won’t have long to wait as the launch is in a couple of days, so expect us to keep you updated.
