OnePlus Will Showcase 5G Smartphone Prototype at MWC 2019

Will they truly be the first to 5G?

OnePlus has revealed plans for their booth at MWC 2019 and it involves 5G network, said:

“Connect with the OnePlus Community over 5G OnePlus, at Qualcomm’s booth (Hall 3 Stand 3E10), invites all to connect and communicate with our community over a 5G network. Attendees will also be able to experience the capabilities of 5G gaming on a OnePlus 5G prototype. Keep an eye out for the limited-edition Qualcomm x OnePlus pin badge, only available at the OnePlus stand.”

Furthermore, it was announced that OnePlus will be bringing 5G to Europe in a collaboration with European telecommunication carrier EE. While it won’t be the final product, visitors will still have the chance to try out the prototype.

The prototype in question will be powered by the next-generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset that comes with the X50 5G modem. As reported by GizmoChina, the Oneplus 5G smartphone may actually be in a new series entirely and not the successor to the OnePlus 6T.

Also, in an interview with CNET, CEO Pete Lau revealed that  OnePlus 5G phone will be set to release by the end of May 2019! Which is not too far off from now, so we’re excited to see how 5G will be handled.
