OnePlus 3 could make Malaysian debut in August

Just wait a little longer and you won't need to pay grey market prices

Malaysians who want to get the latest OnePlus 3 might not have much longer to wait. The phone could be on its way here by August, says an official source.

OnePlus Business Development Manager Ruta Klyvyte Tweeted in reply to a question on the phone's availability.

This seems as much of a confirmation as we'll get.

Released in June, the OnePlus 3 on paper seems a pretty good alternative flagship. It runs the Snapdragon 820, packs 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage but eschews a microSD slot. It has a 16MP f/2.0 rear camera and an 8MP f/2.0 back camera as well as an Adreno 530 GPU. The Full HD 5.5in display comes with Gorilla Glass 4 and all that topped with a 3000mAh battery.

The sensors you can expect on the phone include a fingerprint sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor. So far it comes with graphite and soft gold colour options.

You want a review of the phone? We've got it. Undecided whether to upgrade from the OnePlus 2? We can help you there too. The phone will be distributed by Brightstar and there won't be that annoying queue system in place anymore so expect the phone either to debut online or perhaps as another Maxis exclusive.

Pricing is yet to be confirmed but it's priced at US$399 (RM1588) in the US so expect it to cost just under RM2000 once it reaches our shores.
