Omate's smartwatch runs full Android, skips Android Wear

Watch uses custom UI and apps

Yet another Android smartwatch, but this time it's from a company called Omate and it's not bothering with the Android Wear watch modification. Instead Omate's opted for full Android 5.1 Lollipop for its TrueSmart+ watch, its second in the line after the original TrueSmart.

Specs-wise, it's fitted with a dual-core 1GHz processor, 600mAh battery, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage. It's also running Omate's own custom UI on a 1.54-inch 320x320 display, packing in sensors, GPS as well as a micro-SIM slot.

What's slightly limiting is that the only apps you can run on the apps are custom ones from Omate's website, presumably as there's no guarantee the average Google Play app would work on a watch like this

If you're keen on preordering one, head on over to Omate's website. It'll set you back a not-cheap US$169.
