Let’s cut to the chase. This is what Elon Musk said: “They have hired people we’ve fired. We always jokingly call Apple the ‘Tesla Graveyard.’ If you don’t make it at Tesla, you go work at Apple. I’m not kidding.”
The above words were uttered during an interview with German publication Handelsblatt, when Musk was questioned about Apple hiring Tesla engineers. The hiring game between Apple and Tesla has been highlighted in the media for some time, as rumours swirl around the purported coming of the Apple Car in whatever mysterious shape or form.
And like that didn't hurt enough, he went on to say, "Did you ever take a look at the Apple Watch? (laughs) No, seriously: It’s good that Apple is moving and investing in this direction. But cars are very complex compared to phones or smartwatches.”
How dare he be so irreverent? In public, no less. Well, he’s Elon Musk who’s typically more concerned with the uprising of robots and going to outer space. Which is to say, his head is not in the same space as the average human being's.
This is quite the about turn from his previous remarks in which he sent positive vibes regarding Apple's car ambitions. It looks like Musk’s (undoubtedly futuristic) claws are out.
