Huawei turned quite a few heads with its MateBook and it seems the company is creating a more upmarket version, that's coming pretty soon.
UPDATE 12/04/2017: Prolific leaker @evleaks Tweeted photos of three new Huawei MateBooks, named the Matebooks E, X and D. It seems only the MateBook E has a detachable form factor while the X and D are more like traditional laptops.
It is unclear if the recently leaked specs were for which model, but seeing as the leaked specs are fairly high-end, it's likely the specs were for the X and D models while the E might have a light bump from last year's Huawei MateBook.
Another MacBook alternative
Last year, the MacBook had a Core M - that offers better battery life and pricing, but means it's not quite as powerful. That might change as the latest specs leaked show an Intel Core i5-7200U clocked at 2.71GHz, with 8GB of RAM.
The laptop will also come in two sizes: 13in and 15in, differing from last year's model that only came with a 12in display. It's very likely the specs seen were for the 15in model and the 13in might have different specs, perhaps less RAM or maybe a less powerful processor.
Last year's device was certainly nice to look at and a good attempt by Huawei to step into the tablet hybrid market. Still there was a lot of room for improvement and judging from the new specs, Huawei thinks so too.
