Announcing a brand new smartphone and recycling initiative, Ninetology looks like they're stepping up their game from both the market and environmental perspective.
Ninetology unveiled their Ninetology R1 smartphone, a mid-range phone (of a slightly smaller persuasion) with fairly decent specs. The R1 has a 4.3” IPS display at a rather odd 960 x 540 resolution, 8 MP rear camera, 1GB RAM, Adreno 203 GPU and a 1.2GHz Snapdragon Quad-Core CPU running Android 4.1. Featuring the same design as the rest of the U9 range of phones, it also runs a vanilla version of Android 4.1. Granted it's no iPhone, but it’s a breath of fresh air for people who either want something smaller but just as powerful or simply needs a cheaper phone that’s up to spec.
Also announced was Ninetology’s Smart Ecology 2 program which lets users trade in their old phones for rebates of up to RM200 with website sign-ins as well as RM 150 rebates to students buying Ninetology smartphones during the duration of the event, ending on the 31st of January 2014.
Ninetology also says that they will be debuting 4 new phones on the 2nd of December, right on time for the holiday season.
The Ninetology U9 R1 will retail for RM 799.
