The Nikon Z 6 is arguably one of the best camera for video on the market right now - but sometimes a camera needs some extra oomph to really shine. That’s why it’s great that Nikon has introduced the “Filmmaker’s Kit” for the Z 6, which they also did for the D850.
Now, the Z 6 and the Nikkor Z 24-70mm f/4 S kit lens comes with an Atomos Ninja V 4K HDR 5" monitor/recorder to capture that 10-bit 4K video output and a MOZA Air 2 three-Axis gimbal stabilizer. Nikon also include the FTZ Mount Adapter, a Rode VideoMic Pro+ external microphone, a 12-month Vimeo membership and finally, a filmmaking course with Chris Hershman, a Nikon Ambassador.
Nikon also announced a new lens for the Z mount - a 14-30mm f/4 S. This wouldn’t have come as underwhelming as it did if they announced more lenses but at least that’s one out of six lenses down from the lens roadmap that Nikon has put out at the launch of the Z series. Seeing that 70-200mm f/2.8 or the 85mm f/1.8 or any of the faster lenses would be nice but alas, we must wait longer.
The new Nikkor 14-30mm f/4 S lens will launch within Q1 2019 for $1,300 and the Z 6 Fillmmaker’s Kit arrives in late January 2019 for $4,000.
