If you've been holding out on buying a PadFone, your wait was worth it as the PadFone Infinity A80 is officially available in Malaysia. With updated specs, this might be the device for those hankering for a good hybrid device.

With their powers combined...

As a concept, the PadFone is either wicked cool or weird, depending on who's asking.  Basically you get a working smartphone, but if you snap it into the PadFone Infinity Station dock, it becomes a 10.1-inch tablet. Which means you don't have to get a data-capable tablet as the dock leverages on the phone's existing data connection.

The phone has a 5-inch Full HD display with LTE, running on Android 4.1 and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 quad core processor. You also get a 13MP rear camera and a 2MP camera in front for video calls, 32GB of internal storage, 2GB of working RAM, A-GPS and a 2400mAh battery that Asus claims will give you up to 19 hours of talktime and 410 hours of standby time.

You can get an Asus Padfone Infinity at all authorised Asus dealers for RM2,699.
