Need a Guardian Angel? Put on this wearable tech like a bracelet or pendant

AWARE and JWT collaborate on a device that enhances safety for women against unwanted attention
Any woman needs a Guardian Angel

If you’re a woman in need of a Guardian Angel, look no further.

JWT Singapore, in collaboration with the Association of Women for Action and Research (AWARE), plans to be just that. It’s revealed a Guardian Angel personal safety accessory line to aid women against sexual harassment.

Sorry guys, this one’s not for you. But if you’ve read this far, you should probably get one for the woman in your life.

Now we all know what’s running through your minds. “It’s pretty safe in Singapore, to the extent that we’re the top 10 safest countries in the entire world, so why is there a need for this?” It’s because sexual assault is one of the top priorities of our government (it recently passed an anti-harassment law to augment existing legislation), and it’s better for one to be safe than sorry.

Don’t worry, it won’t stick out like a sore thumb, we’re not talking about something the size of an ankle monitor. The Guardian Angel is a stylish device that’s designed in the shape of a halo and can be worn as a necklace or bracelet.

Here’s how it works

Any woman needs a Guardian Angel

If you’re facing an uncomfortable moment and want to break away from a harasser, you click it once to trigger a call to your own phone. If the threat is more severe, you can hold the button for three seconds to send an SOS text message to a pre-designated number, which will include coordinates to your location via Google Maps. It’s definitely not rocket science.

The Guardian Angel, although designed in Singapore, can be used anywhere around the world. You can get it online for US$120 (RM723).
