If you’re a die hard fan of Motorola’s Moto 360 smartwatch, you’d have probably known by now that it (thus far) is only due to come in two colour options – silver, and back. But now, there might be one more variant to add on to the range thanks to a picture the company posted on its official website.
The highly sought after Android Wear watch might be crafted in gold, based on this leaked image. Someone from the Motorola team might have accidentally posted it up ahead of its announcement, or it could be a genuine mistake.
We’re betting on the former though, because when Android Police contacted Motorola for comment about the promo image, it was immediately replaced with one without the gold Moto 360 watch face.
Slip of the image
And it gets even dodgier; Motorola reworked the positioning of the other four watch faces on the image to sit as if the fifth watch face never existed. It also provided a response stating “Although we can’t comment on gold specifically, we’re always exploring new materials and we intend to provide Moto 360 in a selection of styles in the future”.
That basically means there’s a very high possibility for the Moto 360 to come in a few adaptations, but what stirs our interest is the term “exploring new materials” because this means that the Moto 360 could really be made of gold (or gold plated) instead of just gold coloured.
But of course, this would also mean that its price would match its make. We’ll just have to wait until Motorola sends out the official details of it.
