A torrent of intormation about the Meizu MX5 smartphone is now out, it seems. The leak was spotted on Chinese regulator TENAA’s website together with a detailed hands-on video.
The successor to the MX4 will sport a 5.5-inch FullHD AMOLED display, not QHD like how the previous rumours went. This goes well with the previous rumours that the phone will come with a 16:9 aspect ratio as compared to the current Meizu 16:10 setting.
As for computing and processing power, the phone will be fitted with a Mediatek MT6739 2.3GHz octa-core processor chipset, 3GBs of RAM, internal storage of 16GB with expandable external SD storage up to 128GB and the back camera will be a 20MP sensor(rumours has it that it has 4x optical zoom) with a 3MP front camera.
Measurements for the phone are 146 x 74.6 x 7.9mm which makes it one milimeter thinner that its predecessor but the footprint is definitely the same. The phone has a 3,150mAh battery to support its high powered octa-core processor, and a plus point will be a fingerprint sensor right at the home button. The unit will run on the FlymeOS 4.5 on top of Android 5.0.1. Rumours have it that official release is expected in August.
