Mary had a little drone - lazy shepherd uses technology to herd his flock

Farmer combines job with love of drones to amuse the rest of us

We have seen drones revolutionising the filming industry, taking awesome shots for cheap. Someday (if Amazon had its way) book delivery would be done almost instantly by drones after purchase online and of course, people using drones to spy on other people is probably happening right now. But spying on sheep? That's what one enterprising sheep herder did.

Baa, baa, white drone

Meet farmer and avid drone enthusiast, Paul Brennan. Brennan has found out that the sound from the drone’s propellers scares the bejeezus out of the sheep, thus making them run the other way. So say goodbye to feeding, bathing and caring love for your sheepdog, here comes the all new “Lassie”. All you need to do is to just keep it charged! Nothing but good ol’ cold hard metal, plastic and wires.

All jokes aside, it won’t be long before someone figures out how to program to automate the drones for more than herding sheep on the farm; so welcome to the new age! Just remember to close those curtains.
