Apple fans who have been quietly weeping in chagrin as Samsung Galaxy Note 4 users wave their phones around, you can start celebrating. Maxis just announced it will be bringing in the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus and will be accepting preorders starting 31 Oct.
The phones will officially go on sale 6 Nov but no price plans have been revealed as yet. It's likely that the phone will be priced similarly to years past - meaning it will most likely be cheaper than Singapore's pricing by at least a hundred ringgit or so.
Thus, thus making going over to our neighbours to get an iPhone looks much less appealing now that we know the phone is officially coming.
Break those piggy banks
With the recent launch of the Galaxy Note 4 here, telcos have been offering only 24-month phone bundles and it is possible that the same trend will continue for the iPhone due to its high price point.
It is also likely that the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus plans for each telco will look a lot like what's available for the Galaxy Note 4, with data rates and advance subscription payments likely to be the same. The only difference will be how much of a discount the telcos will give for iPhone pricing.
We'll keep you posted on availability and price plans as soon as we get the details.
