LG’s new mid-range smartphone line-up is on its way

And the company confirms it too

If you’re one of those people who don’t give a damn about fancy high-end smartphones and their eye-popping features, you’re going to get excited. LG’s got a new range of smartphones coming, and they promise to not burn a hole in your pockets.

These four smartphones – named Magna, Spirit, Leon, and Joy – aim to be mid-range smartphones that pack the design elements and features usually found in premium mobile units. For example, the LG Magna and LG Spirit were made with a gentle curved design to fit more comfortably in the palm of your hand.

In addition, LG has incorporated its popular UX features initially intended for its premium smartphones into the range. Gesture Shot (for taking selfies with a simple hand gesture), will be included in the range as well as Glance View – the feature that lets users quickly access key information with a simple downward swipe of the screen.

The four devices will be made available in both 4G LTE and 3G versions (meaning there are going to be eight styles in total), in keeping to LG’s strategy of “expanding its appeal in the mass-tier segment with different products for different networks”.

The only difference is that the LTE models will display identical metal looking back covers, while the 3G devices will feature patterned plastic back covers instead.

By the looks of it, LG can’t contain its excitement about the new smartphones (since it made the announcement a week before MWC) but the units will be officially shown off at the trade show in the coming days so you can learn more about them then.

LG has already also declared that its global rollout will begin this week in select markets, so you won’t have to wait that long for local pricing and availability information.
