LG's just announced a new midrange phone and it's for the musicloving crowd. Behold, the Band Play, a phone that comes equipped with 1W speakers. Presumably that would mean better audio fidelity but then we remember how HTC tried to sell us on its Beats Audio.
It's not a flagship phone, more targetted towards the midrange market. The specs are, at best, middling. It's fitted with a quad-core, 1.2GHz processor running on the Snapdragon 410 chipset, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of flash memory and a 5-inch, 720x1280 pixel display.
Besides afore-mentioned 1W speakers, the Band Play also comes with a LG's Quadbeat 3 headphones that were originally created for LG's G4. As to the camera, it's a 13MP shooter at the back, 5MP in front. The phone also runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop as well as a focus mode that lets you turn off data and Wi-Fi as well as auto-rejects phone calls. We suppose it's so you can keep listening to the sweet tunes on this?
Currently a South Korea-only model, there's no word when or if it'll go worldwide. It will retail in the country for KRW 394,800 (RM1,336).
