LG’s now entering the music fray with its own high-fidelity music service. It will come via the LG SmartWorld app and also at its website www.lgworld.com
The new service supports music encoded up to 24bit/192kHz, which LG says is ‘about six times richer and clearer than the sound quality of a typical CD (16bit/44.1kHz)’.
Customers get the option to download two free songs and get up to 50 per cent discount on music purchases. Phones such as the G4, G3, G2 and G Flex 2 support 24bit music playback capability.
It's an interesting move by the company, though a little surprising considering how much competition there is where music purchases are concerned.
