Oh come on, you can relax that death grip on your wallet, Lenovo’s latest smartphones are looking quite budget-friendly.
Having just launched the S650, S660, A859, A680, A526 and their flagship S860 smartphones, Lenovo seems to be going strong with a huge offering that’ll excite the budget crowd. The new phones not only sport competitive specs with a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, dual-SIM capabilities and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out of the box, they also sport larger than average batteries to boot.
All six smartphones are already in the market save for the Lenovo A526 which will be available later this month.
Encased in brushed metal, the S860 is a 5.3in smartphone with a 1280 x 720 IPS display, a 1.3GHz quad core processor, 2GB of RAM with 16GB storage. It also features an 8MP rear camera and a huge 4000mAh battery. The S860 will retail for RM 1169.
Lenovo S650 and S660
The S650 and S660 smartphones share a lot in common with a few tiny differences. Both feature a 4.7in 960 x 540 IPS display, 1GB RAM and 8GB expandable storage and an 8MP rear camera. The S650 features a 2000 mAh battery and is a hair smaller than the S660, which has a 3000 mAh battery.
Both smartphones come with rubberised cases which feature a handy flip stack out back for viewing videos. The S650 and S660 are priced at RM699 and RM749 respectively.
Featuring a 5in IPS screen with 1280 x 720 resolution, the A859 seems to be an all-rounder with an 8MP rear camera, 1GB of RAM, 8GB storage and a 2250mAh battery. The A859 will retail for RM719.
The cheapest in the current lineup, the A680 is a 5in smartphone with a 854 x 480 FWGA display, with 1GB RAM and 4GB expandable storage. It also features a basic 5MP rear camera as well as a 2000mAh replaceable battery. The A680 retails for RM499.
Last but not least is the runt of the lot. The A526 features a 4.5in FWGA screen with a 854 x 480 resolution, 1GB RAM, 4GB expandable storage and a 5MP rear camera with a 2000mAh battery, making it the budget options of the line. Unfortunately there isn’t any pricing yet but it will hit the market by mid-May.
