Leaked video shows what looks like the GoPro Hero 5

Menu shows tweaks, but new camera is not a radical departure from Hero range

A new video shows a short preview of what to expect from the upcoming GoPro Hero 5. Little is known about the camera besides it being out during holiday season so this is a nice teaser.

Very minor design adjustments

In the nine-second clip, what looks to be a touchscreen can clearly be made out. This might be a sign that for this iteration, GoPro might do without its bus connector.

The bus connector was a useful slot which allowed expandibility via extra screens and other accessories, so it might be missed by GoPro enthusiasts.

Where did the video come from? Apparently it was embedded in the APK of a GoPro Android app, which gives credence to the video's authenticity. GoPro's refusal to comment on the video is also rather telling - so it looks like a touchscreen and perhaps waterproof edition of the GoPro Hero range might be on its way soon in the GoPro Hero 5.

Despite the increasing competition in the market, GoPro is still the most recognisable and popular action camera though the likes of Xiaomi are now attempting to muscle in. We'll see if the GoPro Hero 5 helps keep GoPro on top.
