Kingston surprises everyone with its HyperX gaming headset

Teaming up with Swedish manufacturer QPAD, Kingston has taken a sudden shift in interests by producing their very first gaming peripheral, the Kingston HyperX Cloud gaming headset.

The headset seems to feature most of the stuff you’ll expect on dedicated gaming audio gear, including a huge swappable memory foam cushions it takes its name from.

So far the headset appears to be quite premium, and is suitably kitted out for long hours of play with padded cans and headband which is of course, emblazoned with the HyperX logo.

The setup also includes a detachable microphone, an aluminum construction and large 53mm drivers with a frequency response of 100 - 12,000 Hz to best hear the sweet splatter of your enemies getting gunned to a pulp.

But what really surprises us is that the well-known memory manufacturer has made deals to make the Cloud the official headset of gaming teams Intel Extreme Masters, Alliance Gaming, CNB e-Sports Club, SK-Gaming and Team Liquid as well.

No news of local availability yet, but we hope that Kingston doesn’t have its head up in the clouds with this one.
