Showcased during CES 2019 is Elevate Ultimate Mobility Vehicle concept from Hyundai's CRADLE division.
Each of the Elevate's four wheels is affixed to an articulated, extendable leg which allows the vehicle cruise or even walk over obstacles with ease. For now, the vehicle is planned to be deployed for emergency situations such as natural disasters
"This technology goes well beyond emergency situations," stated John Suh, Hyundai vice president and head of Hyundai CRADLE. "People living with disabilities worldwide that does not have access to an ADA ramp could hail an autonomous Hyundai Elevate that could walk up to their front door, level itself, and allow their wheelchair to roll right in – the possibilities are limitless."
Cool? Very. Any mecha fans excited for this?
