Huawei's bringing a new phone to Malaysia: the Huawei Nova 2 Plus.
UPDATE 24/8/2017: The phone can now be purchased from official retailers for RM1999 in gold, blue and black.
Huawei also announced it will be launching the Nova 2i here in September, a camera that will feature a quad-camera setup - dual-cameras in both the rear and the front. It will apparently be priced around the same as the Nova 2 Plus, at under RM2000.
The company also revealed why it only launched the Nova 2 Plus and not its smaller Nova 2 phone, saying that there was more of a demand for larger-screened phones here thus it was seen fit to only launch the Nova 2 Plus.
The Huawei Nova and Nova Plus were released last year, while their updates the Nova 2 and Nova 2 Plus were recently announced in China. It's uncertain whether Huawei will bring both models to Malaysia or just the Nova 2.
Pricing and availability has yet to be made official but the specs have been made available.
With a Kirin 659 processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB space and a microSD card, its main highlight is its 20MP front camera though its rear camera setup of dual cams with 12MP and 8MP sensors. It also offers a 2950mAH battery and weighs 143g, while remaining super slim at 6.9mm. As for the display it has a 5in Full HD display with 2.5D Gorilla Glass.
The Nova 2 Plus has a 5.5in display with a 3340mAh battery, with the same processor as its smaller brother but has 128GB storage. As for colour options, the phone comes in green, gold, rose gold, blue, and black but it's uncertain how many of those shades will make their way to Malaysia.
