Huawei Mate 30 5G Is Coming To Malaysia

All the signs have arrived

The Huawei Mate 30 series was launched just a few months ago, but we didn't get the 5G version for obvious reasons (we don't have 5G in Malaysia yet). But it seems that now that we have certainty that we will have 5G in 2020, it looks like Huawei is ready to release the 5G version of the Huawei Mate 30 in Malaysia.

SoyaCincau had been tipped on the 5G version on the SIRIM database, while Lowyat discovered a billboard at Subang Jaya showcasing the Huawei Mate 30 5G in the vegan leather edition in orange. Huawei Malaysia has not released an official statement yet, but we can be certain that it's definitely coming to Malaysia sometime soon.

With that, the Huawei Mate 30 5G will be the second 5G smartphone to arrive in Malaysia, the first being the Vivo NEX 3 5G. But as mentioned earlier, 5G isn't quite available in Malaysia yet so even if people do own a 5G smartphone, they can't utilise it fully yet until sometime in Q3 2020.

And as it's Huawei Mate 30 we're talking about, it's unlikely that the 5G version will come with any Google apps. For more information on the Huawei Mate 30 series, check out our article covering the Huawei Mate 30 series launch in Malaysia.
