Computex has shown us all kinds of innovations from every tech company out there. Yesterday, it seemed like Asus was bringing dual-screen devices back in vogue, but now we see that HP is bringing the same feature to their gaming laptop: the HP Omen.
Dual-screen gaming is nothing new for veteran gamers. From Nintendo’s first line of handheld games with the Game & Watch series, and eventually with the pinnacle of dual-screen gaming with the Nintendo DS, Nintendo 3DS, and to a certain extent, the Wii U. HP’s Omen X 2S seems to be channeling that design and implementing it to PC gaming.
The laptop has a 15-inch 144Hz G-Sync IPS screen 1080p, while the second screen is a 6-inch touch screen with 1080p display. The second screen was designed to declutter the main PC screens, as well as letting you to control settings and even control your music. Gaming-wise, the second screen can display your in-game map, let you chat in-game, and more.
Besides all that, the Omen X 2S is equipped with a 9th-generation Intel Core-i9 8-core CPU (with 5 GHz overclocking), NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Max-Q GPU, 32GB of RAM and optional Intel Optane memory storage. There will also be another version packed with 16GB of RAM, a 1TB SSD and an RTX 2080 Max-Q GPU. No release date or retail price has been confirmed just yet.
