HP has not one, but five new laptops out today. There was the just-in-time-for-the-movie Star Wars special edition laptop, a limited edition convertile Spectre x360, the Spectre x2, a new Envy 13 notebook and a HP Pavilion gaming laptop.
Allthough the Star Wars special edition notebook is nice to look at, the specs are more midrange than for the power user or gamer. It comes with an i5-6200U processor, NVIDIA 940M graphics, 8GB of RAM and a 1TB HDD, with a 15.6in Full HD display. It retails for RM3999. A limited edition Star Wars wireless mouse and sleeve are, unfortunately, extras and not bundled with the notebook.
The HP Spectre x360 is a convertible slim laptop with a 13.3in Full HD IPS screen that weighs 1.48kg, with a 56 watt battery that promises extra-long battery life. With a 15.9mm profile, it would probably appeal to those who want a portable, sleek laptop. You'd have to pay a pretty penny for it at RM4999.
Now onto the HPSpectre x2; it's a hybrid machine that allows you to detach its keyboard and it coems with a 12in WUXGA IPS touchscreen, an m3-6Y30 processor and 4GB of RAM. Pricing starts at RM3999.
As for the new Envy 13 notebook, it's the thinnest in the Envy line yet, with two configurations: one with an i5-6200U and another with an i7-6500U, with 4GB and 8GB RAM respectively, weighing a rather svelte 1.36kg. It's priced from RM3699 onwards.
HP's Pavilion gaming notebook comes with i5 and i7 options, the GTX950M graphics processor, a 15.6in Full HD anti-glare backlit screen and a choice of 4/8GB of RAM, with 1TB of HDD space. Price? RM3499 onwards.
