The new updated version of the Chromecast has yet to be released on local shores, but that might change soon.
It seems the device was spotted on the SIRIM database, which usually points to an upcoming device release.
The new device has a 2.4/5Ghz Wi-Fi antenna that supports 802.11ac, a step up above the previous version. Its more flexible design that evolved from a stick to a dongle with a more flexible cable will certainly make it more convenient, especially for wall mounted TVS.
As for pricing, it's likely the pricing for the new device will be roughly around the same as the previous one. We'll keep you updated on when the device finally becomes available officially.
