It hasn't been too long since Microsoft declared its mobile Office apps free. In the meantime, what has Google done to try to keep people coming back to its app? Tweak its Google Drive, of course. It's just recently updated the mobile version for both Android and iOS, with some key differences for each app.
What can you expect for Android? Search. Yes, what Google is known for but the difference is that you can search via Google itself for files within your Drive without needing to actually open up your Drive app.
Sadly it’s not a feature on the iOS version, likely due to the restrictions present where iOS is concerned. But Google’s tweaked it so it’s easier to upload stuff to drive from other iOS apps.
Another feature that both versions will possess is better integration with Google My Maps – accessing and sharing custom maps. Useful for bigger events or gatherings, especially when you’re trying to help guests navigate.
While iOS users will be able to enjoy the new update now, the Android update is planned to roll out over the next week.
