After making a brief inauguration at the CES show earlier this year, Razer has finally set a release date and price for its Razer Nabu smartband. Mark your calendars – its sales will begin on 2 December, and it will be tagged at US$99.99 (about RM343).
It would make the perfect Christmas gift for someone who’s got a wearable device or fitness band on their wishlist, but here’s the setback. It will only be available in North America on that date so unless you’re heading there or planning on doing some online shopping done, the chances of you getting it for someone in Singapore so soon is very slim.
No indication of exactly when this part smartwatch, part fitness band will be rolled out here was mentioned, other than the fact that North America is the first to get it with “other regions following later”.

Since the Razer Nabu smartband made its debut, it has gone through a series of consumer and developer testing – a Beta Program was offered to Razer’s most hardcore fans, and a Developer Program kickstarted with kits sent out to third-party app developers.
In addition, the company announced partnerships with some of China’s largest brands for the smartband, as well as its integration with Apple’s iOS 8 Health app out of the box.
The wearable device will be available in two sizes (small-medium and medium-large) and in four colours including green, white, orange and black. Although black will be the first color to launch with the others to follow suit at a later date.
The Razer Nabu smartband will be available from the RazerStore and subsequently, from select retailers. An early batch of 5000 Nabu units will also be made available for pre-order on Insider, Razer’s newly launched community platform as a way of giving back to those of you that have supported the Nabu’s development.
