Arkham Knight plots PC return
The PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight ended up being a huge mess upon release, and after enough buyer backlash, Warner Bros. pulled it off the market and promised to fix the problems. A recent patch addressed some issues, with more planned work detailed out for anxious owners, and now it sounds like the PC version is about to return to stores.
VG24/7 noticed a press release about upcoming DLC that mentioned "the PC version of the game will be available in the coming weeks." Hopefully, the next big patch will be released as part of its return, and we're keeping fingers crossed that it makes the PC version at least as strong and competent as the console releases.
Angry Birds Movie trailer released
Announced in 2012 near the height of franchise fame, the Angry Birds CG movie is finally coming out next summer - and this is the very first trailer. Truth be told, it doesn't look terrible, although most of the Internet would've told you otherwise in the hours after it came out. Granted, it doesn't look much like the Angry Birds we know, either. But that's Hollywood for you.
Of course, the franchise has seen better days. After a parade of middling free-to-play offshoots, the series has lost a lot of love; the recent Angry Birds 2 was a near return to form, albeit with irritating freemium elements. Rovio has suffered huge layoffs in recent years, but maybe the Angry Birds movie will be the thing it needs to get back in gear. Or maybe it'll be the final nail in the coffin on this dwindling mobile sensation. We'll find out either way come 1 July 2016!
Facebook gets 360 Videos
In the future, it might be part of the Facebook VR experience - but for now, the social network's new 360 Videos are just a cool way to soak in professional content on your news feed. Facebook has teamed with top content creators like GoPro, Vice, and LeBron James to generate these videos, which let you move your phone or click and drag a mouse pointer to see all around a scene.
In fact, it's a super cool Star Wars video that's leading the charge right now, showing a bit of the world created for The Force Awakens as you zip through the desert of Jakku on a speeder. It's great - and hopefully it'll bring more things like this and not, say, 360-degree dish soap ads. The videos are starting to appear on the web and via the Android app, and the feature will hit iOS in the coming months.
Netflix knows when you're hooked
Netflix doesn't just provide most of the television we watch today - the company also studies it. Case in point: yesterday, Netflix released data on which early episode of a number of top TV shows is the one that gets viewers hooked for the whole season and beyond. Breaking Bad's second episode did the trick, according to Netflix, while How I Met Your Mother needed eight episodes to do the same.
They surveyed data from 16 countries across numerous shows, and found that the pilot was never the episode that convinced the most number of viewers to keep going. "This gives us confidence that giving our members all episodes at once is more aligned with how fans are made," explains Ted Sarandos, Netflix's chief content officer.
