With the slew of octa-core phones out recently, it's not a surprise someone (hello Mediatek) would try to one-up that. The company is rumoured to be working on a line of chips to rival Qualcomm's Snapdragon 800 series and Samsung's Exynos 7 Octa chips.
Looking at the purported specs, the phone will be quite the powerhouse. There's 4GB of RAM, 32GB internal storage with memory card slot, a nice 5.5-inch 1080p display, a 3,100 mAh battery and a 20.7MP rear camera complemented by an 8MP front camera. It's also a dual-SIM phone with a dual-standby mode.
The rumoured phone will also be running Android Lollipop and with the specs looking a little too good to be true, we'll just wait to see if Mediatek confirms the news of not just a new phone but the highest-core chip in the market.
