There was some noise when Facebook snapped up Oculus but the noise has died down somewhat, with Oculus' launch still at least a year away. In the meantime it seems that Facebook is hard at work on its own virtual reality app.
The Wall Street Journal reported that Facebook is working on a mobile app for VR videos, which is still in early stages.
With Facebook already announcing that it will support 360 degree videos in its News Feed, it wouldn't be surprising that it would come up with a separate app now it's spinning off separate Facebook functions into their own apps.
Only thing is, is there enough VR content out there to engage viewers? Maybe there will be by the time the app is prime to launch.
