It’s only been months since the first curved screen smartphone made its way to our shores. And if you haven’t already deciphered that we’re taking about the Galaxy Note Edge, you need to get on board the tech bandwagon.
As Samsung expected, the curved screen was a massive hit with consumers, and to continue the lineage of curved screen smartphones, it created and unveiled the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge mobile phone at MWC 2015.
Even though the Galaxy S6 Edge doesn’t sport the same bending as the Galaxy Note Edge, nor does it have the same widget functionality along the edge, it managed to rake up a number of oohs and aahs at the trade show.
So, Samsung’s not stopping with the Galaxy S6 Edge in implementing this curved-screen feature on its upcoming line-up.
Sources have revealed that Samsung’s product strategy team executive vice-president, Roh Tae-moon, said the company’s considering the introduction of a curved display for future Galaxy Note phablets. Tae-moon mentioned that at a press con at MWC 2015.
If there’s any truth to his claim, this would mean that the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will be the next unit to boast the feature. However, it’s not been confirmed if the unit will have a more functional curved edge or be one like the Galaxy S6 Edge. He didn’t let slip any other details of any of the company’s upcoming devices too.
We think just like the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge launch, there will be two variations of the Galaxy Note 5 Edge (so you curved screen haters can rest assured that there’ll be one to suit your taste).
