We've been bomabrded left, right, and center with speculations about the HTC One (M9) when it comes to leaks about mobile devices from the Taiwanese tech maker. But now, there’s one more device to add on to the leaks.
According to famous leakster, @upleaks, the company has a new smartphone in the works and it’s currently codenamed M8_QL. Sources have suggested that this could be the HTC One M8i, a mid-range alternative to HTC’s popular One (M8) mobile device.
From the name itself, we can infer that the unit will borrow some (if not most) of the physical features from the flagship device. So we do expect its looks to resemble that of the One (M8) – if there is any truth to its make that is.

On the inside though, we think it might be scaled down (hence called a mid-range unit). Sources have indicated that the alleged unit could be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chipset, namely the MSM8939, meaning that there could be some changes in the hardware as compared to the HTC One (M8).
It’s also expected to have an octa-core Cortex-A53 processor, where four of its cores might be clocked at up to 1.7 GHz, while the rest only go up to 1 GHz. Sadly, besides this, no other information about the unofficial device was made available.
Since this rumour is still unconfirmed and in its early stages, we can expect more beans to spill in the coming weeks. But if its hype dies down, it’s probably safe to assume you won’t be seeing it anytime soon.
