Celcom closing signups to its ultra-cheap RM38 plan by 16 July

On the fence? You won't have much time to consider when Celcom pulls the plug

It's been quite the telco price war lately, with U Mobile and Celcom leading the charge for more mobile data, less money to pay.

But while U Mobile is carrying on its plans till the next price update, Celcom will be pulling the plug on its latest budget plan. So no more RM38 a month for 3GB after 16 July.

The plan is pretty basic as far as other things are concerned - RM38 gets you 50 minutes of free calls, 50 free SMS as well as 3GB of data plus 3GB of free Celcom Wi-Fi.

What Celcom does do better than most is consistent coverage especially over in the reaches of East Malaysia. It even has the distinction of having coverage even within the otherwise secluded national park Taman Negara as well as near the summit of Mount Kinabalu.

So if you've been itching to change telcos for little cost, maybe it's time you think about it.
