BlackBerry's not dead yet: leaks show three upcoming phones

The BlackBerry slider is not just a pipe dream

Ah, BlackBerry , the once top leader in the smartphone market which has recently been going through some hard times. The past few quarters we have not heard much from the former giant, that now barely stays in the game with its small, niche market. Even with the release of the BlackBerry Leap, which was introduced in MWC 2015, it didn’t really manage to make any impact on consumers but there could be sope home for the company to rekindle its flame.

If you can recall, last month in Barcelona, BlackBerry teased us with what seemed to be a slider phone with a double-edged screen. And just recently, a new set of images surfaced on the internet that shows the very same phone, alongside with two other possibly new BlackBerry devices. Berries comes in bunches, we are reminded.

The Slider phone is dubbed the BlackBerry Slider or the BlackBerry Venice and it could be the new flagship for the company. It will allegedly feature a 5.1 inch 1440 x 2560 display. Right now there is no way to tell if the display is going to be curved like the Galaxy S6 Edge. The new device looks pretty stylish and pleasant. It could also be including a octa-core CPU, 16MP main and 5MP front camera and a huge 3650mAh battery to support the octa-core processor so this is definitely sailing into flagship waters.

There were another two devices leaked alongside with the Venice, which one is said to succeed the current BlackBerry Passport that should bear the same name (Oslo), and share similar specs with its predecessor; a 1440 x 1440 pixels display, Snapdragon 800 chipset, a 13MP camera with OIS, a 3450mAh battery and physically looks similar too.

And yes the last device, bearing the model number P’9984 which leads to one possible conclusion—a new Porsche Design phone which looks similar to the Passport but bears the signature design and colour palate of the Porsche. Let's hope these are real and BlackBerry ceases being boring.
