As we’ve previously covered, the Black Shark 2 Pro is coming to us soon, with some speculation on the specs and what is running under the hood for this much anticipated gaming smartphone. As such,e now have confirmation on the phone’s specs and the price of the Black Shark’s upgraded flagship gaming smartphone.
One thing that was correctly predicted was the Black Shark 2 Pro’s use of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ processor, which the Asus ROG Phone 2 also uses. With a stronger processor, the phone is being backed up with a direct cooling touch liquid cooling system, 6.39-inch full HD+ AMOLED screen, as well as in-display fingerprint sensor.
In terms of gaming upgrades, this includes a 240Hz touch response rate, 34.7ms touch latency with custom touch zones, a Game Dock overlay, touch DPI setting, and 0.3mm touch precision. Besides those upgrades, the same 4,000mAh battery on the original Black Shark 2 is back, a UFS 3.0 storage system, while its rear cameras consists of a 48MP main + 12MP rear sensors with capabilities for 1920fps slow-motion recording at 720p, and a 20MP selfie camera on its front. The Black Shark 2 Pro now features RGB light strips on the back of the device, which was hinted (and leaked) prior to its official reveal.
Overall, it seems that the Black Shark 2 Pro is a nice step-up from the initial Black Shark 2 model. No word on a local release date just yet, though we do know that there will be a 12 GB RAM with 128 GB storage model and one with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, priced at around MYR 1,800 and MYR 2,100 respectively.
