The Black Shark 2 is probably the best gaming-focused smartphone out right now, sporting the best DPS you can find for gaming, as well as its own specialised peripherals that truly turns it into a gaming machine. And now, the Black Shark 2 is getting a Pro upgrade that promises even better performance.
Based on a Weibo post by Xiaomi, who owns the Black Shark brand, the phone will be coming to Chinese markets on the 30th of July. The biggest upgrade will be in the processor upgrade, going from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 to the recently announced Snapdragon 855+. This is the same upgrade that we’ll be seeing with the ASUS ROG Phone 2, which coincidentally will be released a week before on the 23rd of July.
While other upgrades and cosmetic differences are still unknown from the Black Shark 2 Pro, this new processor is sure to bring greater performances out of the already powerful Black Shark 2. The Qualcomm 855+ is said to bring a 15% increase in the performance of the GPU, as well as a better refresh rate, going from 2.84 Hz to 2.96 Hz.
Overall, we’re pretty confident that the Black Shark 2 Pro will be coming to Malaysia soon, hopefully we’ll get a release date and pricing sometime next month.
